I won my first writing contest in October!! I had 44 hours to write a play. The actors had 4 days to practice the play, and then it was performed 4 times. The contest was called FourPlay, and it was performed at the Manitou Art Theatre. It was a neat concept, and I am very happy to have been one of the winners.
The newspaper in my hometown, the Wilmington News Journal, also wrote a story about my play.
My play is a satire about the November 2nd, 2010 elections. It follows the campaign of a senator running for re-election.
One of the directors of the contest asked to see more of my work, so hopefully I will have a few more plays produced.
I am in the process of applying to graduate schools for sociology, so I probably won't be able to do a lot of creative writing until December.
